“For through the Spirit, by faith, we ourselves eagerly wait for the hope of righteousness. For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision counts for anything, but only faith working through love. For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another. For the whole law is fulfilled in one word: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” But if you bite and devour one another, watch out that you are not consumed by one another.”

What a great place to start our blog. As a group we want to show God’s love to our community. I just wanted to take the time today to remind myself that God’s love is shown through me in serving others. It has nothing to do with myself, Freebird family members, or any of the countless partners and volunteers alone. It’s ALL about Jesus. Our being available to service for other people, that little yes for someone in need allows God to work life change in those around us. We may not see what Jesus is doing, but it is not just for us. Jesus is doing work in us, around us, and through us when we serve others. Treating others with kindness, compassion, and love is only possible with Jesus. We will never do it perfectly because we are not perfect but we are doing it for the one who is, Jesus. When you serve others with serving Jesus in your heart and intentions it helps you grow a little closer to him each day. “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” Keep to the life long Journey of transformation in Jesus. Live free family.
